Robbins & Myers Signs Agreement to Acquire T-3 Energy Services
Robbins & Myers reached an agreement to acquire T-3 Energy Services, a company which manufactures and repairs products used in the drilling and completion of new oil and gas wells, the workover of existing wells, and the production and transportation of oil and gas. This acquisition will significantly expand our energy business within the Fluid Management Group. We are confident it will create a stronger strategic platform to support our future growth and expansion.
T-3 Energy is an ideal fit for our company and will generate greater opportunity for our customers and business. Their product and service offerings are complementary to our own, and it has an established presence in markets that are important to us. While we share a number of similarities in terms of our business models and close customer focus, there is very little overlap in our product and service offerings and virtually no operational overlap. Our headquarters will remain in Dayton and our leadership team will remain the same.
CRS RECEIVES SILVER STANDARD AWARD FOR SAFETY PERFORMANCE
Syngenta’s 2004 Annual International Engineering Maintenance and Construction Safety Performance Event was held on the 22nd April at the Forum, Syngenta’s Conference facility at their Huddersfield site. During the event delegates listened to various speakers from Syngenta’s Huddersfield, Grangemouth & Jeollots Hill sites. Guest Speaker Ken Woodward gave an extraordinary talk on how, through an industrial injury which made him totally blind, he overcame his disability to become Safety Manager at Coca Cola. He now gives talks around the world on the subject of safety. At the awards ceremony before dinner, CRS was awarded the Silver Standard Certificate from Syngenta UK Site Engineer David Leeming in recognition for their excellent safety achievement during 2003 that has enabled Syngenta to continue improvements in safety performance.
New Gasket Material
The Construction of the gasket remains as its predecessor PF2000 but now using the AF3000 material with a flourelastomer binder, which provides enhanced stability at high temperatures to 230 C.
AF3000 construction is designed for gaskets above DN400 where it is recommended that the putty fill system used with the PF2000 is also used with AF3000. This will ensure that the gasket thus fitted will provide an even distribution of the flange loading.
The two gasket products – AF3000m for use from DN25 to DN400, and AF3000 for use in applications above DN400 – offer the end user the complete solution to all sealing requirements for glassed lined vessels and pipework without fear of damage to flanges.
Arising firstly from the aim to improve performance by substituting a superior material to PF2000 – hitherto the industry standard – the opportunity was taken to revisit the design issues presented by the necessity to cover all requirements from DN25 to DN400 and above.
CRS is confident that the introduction of the AF3000 and AF3000m new gasket range will satisfy the most challenging of process enviroments and the industrys demands for ever higher performance from sealing solutions.
CRS will now supply Normag Glass products to the UK & Eire markets.
As well as the full Normag catalogue range, bespoke designs can be submitted, and our sales team will help you from conception to production.
